Playbook 1 Reflective Report

After a few weeks of playbook sessions I wanted to write a short reflection on how I felt about the work I was producing. At first I found the prospect of being able to draw anything quite daunting. This was because I am so used to having some sort of a constraint for my work and haven't really had this much freedom in my drawing for a long time. It has helped me engage a lot more with my own understandings of line, mark making and shape. Initially I think i was quite reserved in regards to how explorative I was willing to be, maybe because I felt a bit scared to try new methods of making?

One thing that's been especially useful in this project, in terms of pushing me, has been reviewing the work of others. Looking at the vast diversity has been particularly inspiring and helped me to realise that there is not one, or two or even three ways about it when it comes to drawing - it's pretty limitless! Anything can be used to create and image and that simple realisation has helped me to feel a lot more comfortable with myself and the work I am making. 

I feel excited and motivated thanks to this project and look forward to making more mistakes, more successes and more work!
