Goals for 504

504 GOALS

I had a really good experience working on 503 and believe that my outcomes where some of the best pieces of work I've produced whilst studying here. The reason being that I took the time out to apply myself and engage with the work I was producing. Learning new skills, such as how to use After Effects, really inspired me and this was visible in my outcomes. Creating an animation out of my screen prints opened my eyes to the endless amounts of ways that process could be combined to create a wide variety of unique designs. Moving forward to 504, I feel quite excited, particularly about SB1. Having the opportunity to apply all the knowledge and skills we have gained so far into a professional, industry-style brief is a really great opportunity. Creating work that I would want to exhibit, be it on my website, Instagram or even a gallery, is a goal I expect to achieve during this module. To do this I will apply the same mind set and motivation as done for 503. I want to gain a greater understanding of the principals of graphic design, focusing on use of text, layout and colour theory. I have been talking with my friend (graphic designer) about potentially collaborating for SB2, so hopefully that will help me to achieve this goal. One final thing I think is important to implement into 504 is taking the opportunity to push myself out of my usual area of work and down a route that I might not be comfortable or familiar with. This could be something that I aim to achieve during SB2 given that the brief is open for us to write ourselves.
