Penguin Competition Development

Have spent some time drawing out ideas for this brief now and have stumbled on a few designs that i think would be worth taking forward. Images 1 & 2 (above) show variations of an idea I had that linked the establishment to Pinocchio, using the motif of the nose that grows when lies are told. I thought that this could be a good idea as its an extremely well known thing, meaning it would clearly suggest the idea that 'The Establishment' are not necessarily to be trusted. In this idea, I made reference to Theresa May and Donald Trump. I don't actually think that they should be included as 'The Establishment' is known to be a very illusive sector of society that happens behind the scenes rather than on the world stage.

The second idea I liked incorporated the same Pinocchio motif of the first idea, however, this time the nose is careering into a group of people and pushing them all over. The concept behind this is to allure to how The Establishment and their deceits are responsible for a huge range of social and societal issues. This could be further exemplified through ensuring that the people being pushed by the nose are of a diverse range, using a range of colours, not necessarily realistic.

The third sketchbook image shows my more finalised version of this idea. I plan to start developing it digitally and see where things go from there.
