Motifs Crit

The final motifs that we had conjured up by the end of Studio Brief 1 display an amalgamation of all the research, studies and drawing we have done so far for 'About The Author'. I feel happy with the ideas that I have ended up at, discussing others work and my own during the crit was a really useful method of generating even more ideas. 

The way that we did this crit (using the 4 different coloured hats) was a great way of getting a diverse and valuable range of feedback toward the project. The main things I have picked up on from this crit that need attention/improving are:

• Trying the eyes/mouths idea as an animation would look cool.
• Screen printing would be a good method of bringing the eye motifs to life.
• Pay attention to the space, is a border necessary? Could the image completely consume its space?
• Needs more playing with on paper and on screen!
• Is the shading necessary?
